Boating But Stay Safe
From marinas and storage options to
lakefront dining and a boating blog, BoatingLakeCounty.com is a useful website for all things boating in
Lake County.
And,
stay safe on the water by following county laws. A watercraft that is towing a
person must display a bright orange flag at the highest point of the boat’s
helm. Also, all people born after January 1, 1998 must take and pass a boating
safety course validated by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and
hold a valid boating safety certificate. More

Lake
County’s owned and operated skilled nursing facility; Winchester House will now
be under the ownership of Transitional Care Management (TCM) following the Lake
County Board’s approval of a lease agreement. Following many years of careful
analysis and exhaustive review by the County and the Winchester House Advisory
Board (which is made up of dedicated residents with expertise in healthcare and
finance), Lake County selected TCM to lease, and eventually replace Winchester
House at their expense. TCM will maintain
operations at the current site in Libertyville for three years and provide a
transition plan for existing residents and services. Winchester House has been
providing excellent care to Lake County residents for more than 150 years, and
this plan preserves that mission in the future.
The Lake County Board is committed to sustainability, as reflected
in the Lake County Strategic Plan. Here are some examples of what your county government is
doing to promote sustainability:
- The
Lake County Division of Transportation recycled 156,000 pounds of scrap
metal, 3687 gallons of used motor oil, and 470 gallons of used
anti-freeze.

portal.
