April 23, 2015
As we enter spring 2015, our office is busy preparing the
2014 property tax bills. Look for them to arrive in the mail the first week in
May. Remember, this is the only bill you will receive. Like previous years, property
taxes will be due in two equal installments. This year, the due dates will be June 3 and September 3.
New this year: The return envelopes that accompany your tax bill will have a different return mailing address. You will be mailing in your payment to our new P.O. Box located in Bedford Park, IL. This location was selected because it’s the closest Post Office to our lock box facility. We are very excited for this new option and are always looking for ways to improve productivity at the Treasurers’ office.
Know More About your Tax Bill:Tax bills can be complex and hard to understand, so view our FAQ’s video to get answers to some frequently
asked questions during the property tax process. Also, check out Lake County's new budget portal that tells you where your tax dollars go.
We also want to remind you to pay close attention to your
Assessment and to make sure you are receiving the property tax exemptions that
are available to you. Contact your local Township Assessor for more
information.
