Another Life Saved Via Naloxone by the Park City Police Department

This marks the second life saved in Park City within five days

(Park City, IL April 21, 2015) Park City Police Chief, Walter Holderbaum announced that another life has been saved by Park City Detective Ken Stoves.

On Tuesday, April 21, 2015, Park City Police Officers were dispatched to an address on Devonshire Lane in reference to an unresponsive person. The 9-1-1 caller reported to the 9-1-1 dispatcher that they found the victim on the kitchen floor of the home and added that there existed "signs of a possible overdose".

Upon arrival, police officers observed a male victim lying on the kitchen floor inside the home on Devonshire Lane in Park City. The victim was unresponsive and not breathing. Detective Ken Stoves was one of the responding officers, and was on-scene. While one officer monitored the victim's vital signs, Detective Stoves administered the Naloxone. After approximately one minute later, the victim began breathing and regained consciousness.

Gurnee rescue also responded to the scene and they transported the victim to Vista East for further treatment.

This is the second incident within five days. On both occasions, Detective Stoves administered the Naloxone. Both overdose victims have recovered.

All Park City Police Officers have been trained in the administration of Naloxone and carry it in their squad vehicles.

The Lake County Opioid Initiative launched the law enforcement Naloxone Training Program in November 2014. As a result of this training program, a total of ten lives have been saved by law enforcement since Christmas 2014.
