EVANSTON, ILLINOIS - Community members are invited to attend the Evanston
Volunteer Recognition Reception on Wednesday, April 29, beginning at 5:30 p.m.,
in the Louis Room of Northwestern University's Norris University Center, 1999
Campus Dr. The event honors volunteers who were selected to receive the Outstanding
Volunteer of the Year Award based on nominations submitted by Evanston organizations,
community members and fellow volunteers.
To commemorate the success of the 11th annual
event, a special recognition will be
made to honor Northwestern University’s Special Assistant for Community
Relations Lucile Krasnow, who has overseen the growth of the reception event
since its inception. Krasnow will be stepping down from the event’s planning committee
to enjoy retirement after 15 years as Northwestern University’s liaison with
Evanston city government, school districts and business and community groups.
“Lucile came up with the idea to recognize community and student
volunteers 11 years ago,” says Evanston Community Foundation’s Vice President of Programs Marybeth Schroeder. “It’s been a terrific partnership of Evanston
organizations with Northwestern – a great example of the connections she’s
fostered throughout her tenure.”
The 2015 Evanston Volunteer Recognition Reception will feature
keynote speaker Dino Robinson, founder of Shorefront in Evanston; Judy
Fiske, 1st Ward Alderman; Steven Hagerty, founder and CEO of Hagerty
Consulting; Pat Hughes, president of Inclusion Solutions; Todd Adams, dean
of students & assistant vice president of student affairs at Northwestern
University; Sara Schastok; president and CEO of Evanston Community Foundation;
and Eric Witherspoon, superintendent of Evanston Township High School
(ETHS).
