Evanston Art Studios Open Their Doors Oct. 11

Open Studios

Get a behind-the-scenes look at Evanston's arts community this Sat., Oct. 11, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event will open studio and gallery doors citywide to the general public to view works in progress, live performances, and demonstrations.


Historic House Finds New Home in Evanston

John Van Bergen Irving House

This Fri., Oct. 10, work will begin to relocate the historic John Van Bergen Irving House from its current location in Wilmette to Evanston. The house will be temporarily stored in the parking lot of the future Whole Foods location at Isabella St. and Green Bay Rd. until the new site in Evanston is ready.

Run for your life! On Sat., Nov. 1, "zombies" will invade Evanston for the first time as part of the Recreation Division’s inaugural Zombie Scramble. Choose between a 2-mile family-friendly course or a 4-mile course for those ages 18 and olderjust don't get caught before you cross the finish line! Registration closes Wed., Oct. 15, so act fast!


View and Provide Input on Evanston's Draft 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan

The City of Evanston seeks public comment on its draft 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan, which identifies and prioritizes housing, community and economic development needs and strategies, focusing primarily on the needs of low- and moderate-income residents. Comments can be submitted online, in writing, or at a public meeting at the Morton Civic Center on Tues., Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m.
