Mission #013: Take the Stage - Complete Challenge by October 14
Since 1979, Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre has celebrated African American and African Diaspora stories, bringing compelling plays and playwrights to Evanston audiences.
For this week’s Choose Your Parks & Recreation Adventure, we’re handing the playbill over to you!
Your Mission: If you could bring a play by an African American playwright to the Fleetwood-Jourdain stage, what would you choose? It can be a favorite you’ve already seen or read — or something you’ve always wanted to experience live.
Tell us the playwright or play in the comments on our Mission #013 Facebook or Instagram post.
Next on Stage: The Niceties
Then see what’s actually coming to the Fleetwood-Jourdain stage! Eleanor Burgess’ The Niceties runs Oct. 31–Nov. 15. The two-person drama follows a Black college student and her white professor as a discussion about slavery and the American Revolution becomes a charged debate over race, history and power.
Two Ways to Win!
Complete Mission #013 by October 14 and you’ll be entered for a chance to win two tickets to The Niceties. You’ll also earn an entry in our October Adventure Giveaway for a $100 credit toward a Winter Parks & Recreation program. Winter registration opens Nov. 9.
