EVANSTON POLICE ARREST THREE INDIVIDUALS FOR SELLING DRUGS NEAR N.U. CAMPUS

The Evanston Police Department N.E.T. Unit which focuses its efforts on drug and gang enforcement began an investigation approximately two weeks ago into the sale of illegal drugs near the Northwestern University campus. Evanston Police learned of two locations that were selling illegal drugs, one in the 2200 block of Sherman Ave and the other in the 800 block of Hamlin St.

On May 24th police executed a search warrant on the Sherman Ave. address and recovered over 750 grams of cannabis along with over $10,000 in currency. Arrested was Michael Eaker Age 35 who resided at an apartment on Sherman Ave.

The following day, May 25th, police executed a second search warrant at the Hamlin St. location and recovered approximately 5 grams of MDMA, an illegal drug that is commonly referred to as Ecstasy, 2 grams of LSD, a small amount of cannabis and just over $3,000 in currency. Arrested was Tory Reiss, a 22 year old Northwestern University student.

Police timed the execution of the search warrants to occur just prior to the annual Armadillo Day festival that occurs annually on the university campus.
