Over the next five months, the City has contracted improvements at James Park. Construction activities will primarily focus on the areas surrounding the fieldhouse and playground, and will also extend to the east and west multi-use paths. This project is anticipated to begin in August and be completed in December.
Improvements will include new playgrounds for ages 2-5 and 5-12, an activity area for ages 13 and older, pavement improvements, drainage improvements, a new splash pad, site amenities, ADA improvements, and landscaping.
During construction, the park will remain open; however, the fieldhouse and portions of the adjacent parking lot will be closed. To accommodate these closures, portable restrooms, temporary ADA parking spaces, and a temporary ADA path will be provided. Construction activities may create temporary inconveniences for park visitors, but every effort will be made to minimize disruptions. Limited parking restrictions at the west parking lot may be necessary to accommodate construction activities. Any affected parking areas will be marked with temporary "No Parking" signs posted at least 48 hours in advance.

The project’s general contractor is AGAE Contractors, Inc, 189 Gordon Street, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.
