Evanston Police Respond to Bomb Threat at Endeavor Health Evanston Hospital
 EVANSTON, IL - At approximately 5:01 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the Evanston Police Department responded to a reported bomb threat at Endeavor Health Evanston Hospital, located at 2650 Ridge Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers established a secure perimeter around the facility. As a precaution, surrounding areas were evacuated and access to the area was restricted to protect patients, staff, visitors, and the public.
During the response, officers located a suspicious package with wires protruding from it outside the building. The Evanston Fire Department is deploying a drone to provide an aerial assessment of the scene while minimizing risk to emergency personnel. The Cook County Bomb Squad is also responding to assist with evaluating the package and securing the area.
The public is urged to avoid the area surrounding 2650 Ridge Avenue and follow all directions from emergency personnel. Motorists should expect road closures and traffic delays in the area.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No additional information is available for release at this time. Updates will be provided when it is safe and appropriate to do so.
