To honor and celebrate the Class of 2026, Northwestern University is hosting a fireworks display over Lake Michigan tomorrow, Sunday, June 14, at approximately 8:45 p.m.
As in previous years, the fireworks display will be launched from a barge located offshore near the Northwestern Lakefill. There is no alternate launch site. At this time, weather and water conditions are forecast to be favorable, and organizers anticipate the event will proceed as scheduled. The fireworks display is expected to last approximately 20 minutes.
To support a safe and enjoyable event, there will be an increased presence of first responders throughout the area.
Community members visiting the lakefront are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel, as increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic is expected. For non-emergency assistance, please contact the Police Department's non-emergency line at 847-866-5000. In an emergency, call 911.
