The City of Evanston will begin a road resurfacing project over the next 12 weeks on seven street segments across the community. Improvements will include roadway resurfacing, curb repairs and replacement where needed, sewer work, roadway base repairs, and selected sidewalk, driveway apron, and ADA accessibility upgrades.
The project is funded through the City’s Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds, and there will be no direct cost to property owners on the affected streets.
Construction will take place in two phases. The street segments included in each phase are listed below.

Street resurfacing work on Phase 1 road segments is scheduled to begin the week of June 8 and is expected to be completed by mid-July. The overall project is expected to be substantially complete by the end of August, with final sod restoration to follow.
Residents will be notified of the specific dates work is planned on their street through temporary NO PARKING signs posted at least 48 hours before construction begins.
While construction may cause temporary inconveniences, crews will work to minimize disruptions whenever possible. Daytime NO PARKING restrictions within the construction zone will be in effect intermittently throughout the project. Overnight parking (5 p.m. to 7 a.m.) will remain available.
To help accommodate residents during construction, street sweeping and neighborhood parking restrictions will be suspended within a one-block radius of active work zones whenever temporary daytime NO PARKING restrictions are in effect.
Contractor
The contractor for this street improvement project is Bigane Paving Co., 935 Chestnut Street, Chicago, IL 60005.
