Community Picks Three Playground Designs for Upgrades
The results are in! Thanks to great community participation, three Evanston playgrounds are one step closer to exciting new upgrades.
Following recent public input and voting, residents have selected final designs for playground renovations at Burnham Shores, Eggleston Park and Snyder Tot-Lot. Across all three projects, community members showed up—sharing feedback, attending meetings and casting votes to help shape spaces their families will enjoy for years to come.
- At Burnham Shores, the Challenge Course design led the way, earning 135 of 236 votes.
- At Eggleston Park, the Woodland concept was selected with 20 of 39 votes.
- And at Snyder Tot-Lot, the Spinning Sprouts design received the most support, with 53 of 93 votes.
All three projects have been reviewed with the Parks and Recreation Board, and the next phase is underway. Staff will begin developing detailed construction drawings in preparation for public bidding.
These projects are a direct reflection of community input and a great example of how resident voices help shape Evanston’s parks and open spaces.
Stay tuned for updates as these exciting playground improvements move closer to construction!
