We invite you to Enjoy Evanston as we gear-up for more time outdoors and the frenzy of events city-wide.
Business Feature: No Longer Human Tea Shop
Image owned by No Longer Human
We had the pleasure of stopping by No Longer Human, a new tea shop located at 1810 Central St., to try some of their rare and unique offerings and chat with beverage director, John Klotter. See our conversation below.
Can you share some of the history of No Longer Human?
No Longer Human was born out of a passion for tea. We wanted to create a space that centered around the experience, and there was nothing like it in the Chicagoland area. This is a place where we can honor the dedication and talent of farmers, tea makers, and artisans in Japan and around the world.
What can folks expect if they come to your store?
A relaxing and centering experience with rare, high-quality teas.
How do you set yourself apart from other tea/coffee shops?
This is the first tea shop like this in the Chicagoland area. For some of these teas, we are the sole importer from Japan. Here you can find unique teas such as Japanese Oolong, Japanese black teas, and herbal teas like the Persimmon Leaf tea.
What is your favorite thing about running a business in Evanston?
We have been heartened and encouraged by all the support. We love being able to talk to new and returning customers and help guide them through their tea journey.
No Longer Human is open Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Stop by the tea bar for an unforgettable experience with the friendly and knowledgeable staff, or explore their selection of locally made ceramic cups and teas to go (both a great gift idea!).
You can also find two of their other stores around Evanston, Tokaido General Store at 1805 Central St. and Passenger at 1303 Chicago Ave.
