On Monday, February 16, I will be hosting a 9th Ward meeting at the Prieto Community Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Chicago Stars will attend to share their proposed plans for 2027 and talk to community members about their organization. We will also hear about the Love Your Block grant program and what its second year will look like. The meeting will be hybrid to accommodate folks who can't make it in person.
Thank you to everyone who made it to last month's joint meeting to discuss the 2026 update of the Evanston Bike Plan. There are still feedback opportunities for community members to weigh in on what they want to see in the update. Please visit the online community engagement portal for the project.

It's time to get creative! Naming contest kicks off
The Evanston Parks and Recreation Department and Fourth Ward Councilmember Nieuwsma invite community members to help name the new off-leash dog area coming to Grey Park this spring.
How it works: Community members are encouraged to submit creative, Evanston-inspired names (35 characters or fewer) through our online form, now through February 22 at 10 p.m. The top ten names will be selected by Councilmember Nieuwsma and Parks and Recreation staff, and the community will have the opportunity to vote for their favorites. More info.
