Good morning,
Check out this week's news on letters to Santa, sledding, winter break camps, events, and more.
Time to Send Your Letters to Santa!
Evanston Parks & Recreation is teaming up with the North Pole again this year to make sure every child’s letter makes it to Santa. Drop off your letters thru December 14 at the North Pole mailbox at the Chandler-Newberger Community Center.
Want a letter back? Just place your note in a stamped, self-addressed envelope before dropping it off!
Drop-off location: Chandler-Newberger Community Center 1028 Central St., Evanston
Slide Into Winter Fun — Safely!
Before you hit the hill at James Park, a quick reminder to help everyone stay safe and have fun: Sledding is allowed on the smaller hills — but not the big center hill. No skiing, snowboarding, or toboggans on the hills.
Grown-ups, please keep an eye on your little snow adventurers. The hill isn’t staffed, so enjoy responsibly and check conditions before you slide. Let’s make this a winter full of safe, happy runs down the hill!
Dog Beach Temporarily Closed for Winter Safety
The Parks and Recreation Department has made the tough decision to close the Dog Beach due to safety concerns caused by inclement weather. The snow accumulation is currently too high for safe access, making it difficult for people to navigate the area. The Parks and Recreation Department will reopen the Dog Beach once it is deemed safe. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure everyone's safety.
