Evanston reaffirms its dedication to creating a welcoming environment for immigrant and refugee communities, promoting policies that protect residents from federal enforcement actions.
Additionally, the Evanston Police Department (EPD) emphasizes transparency by requiring officers to wear clearly identifiable uniforms, fostering trust within the community. Residents are encouraged to voice any concerns regarding potential impersonators by contacting 911 or by calling the EPD’s non-emergency number at (847) 866-5000.
Recently, Homeland Security arrested an individual near Church and Brown; however, it is important to note that the EPD was not involved in this incident and did not have officers present at the time.
