Pavement Marking Refresh to Begin This Week
Starting this week, the City will begin refreshing pavement markings in the 2025 program area, as well as other locations identified as needing updates. Work is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The project will refresh crosswalks, stop bars, center lines, and speed bump markings to improve visibility and safety for all road users. Each location will typically take less than one hour to complete. Crews will apply a fresh layer of thermoplastic pavement marking material, which is a heat-activated plastic that cools quickly and typically lasts 5-7 years. Once applied, the street will be immediately ready for traffic.
Drivers may experience brief delays in active work zones, where flaggers will help direct traffic around crews. Temporary parking restrictions will be in place only in the areas being worked on and will be short in duration.
