2025 Court Improvements, James, Leahy, Ackerman and Mason
Parks
Over the next three months, the City of Evanston will be undertaking renovations of the athletic courts at James Park, Leahy Park, Ackerman Park, and Mason Park (please refer to the map).
At James Park, the project will involve converting the existing six tennis courts into fifteen new pickleball courts. Meanwhile, at Leahy Park, Ackerman Park, and Mason Park, the existing tennis courts will be renovated.
 Project Schedule
The renovations are expected to begin in late July 2025 and be completed by October 2025. During the construction period, the athletic courts that are being improved will be closed to the public.
While construction activities may cause some inconvenience for nearby community members, we will make efforts to minimize these disruptions. Additionally, limited parking restrictions on adjacent roadways may be implemented to accommodate construction activities. These restrictions will be communicated with temporary "NO PARKING" signs posted 48 hours in advance.
Contractor
The project’s general contractor is Chicagoland Paving Contractors, Inc., 225 Telser Road, Lake Zurich, Illinois 60047.
City Monitoring
