Evanston Man Charged with Aggravated Discharge in Connection with May 12 Shots Fired Incident
 EVANSTON, IL - On May 12, 2025, at approximately 9:28 p.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 1700 block of Payne Street. The investigation revealed that a male subject approached an occupied vehicle and asked the driver if he was from the area. As the driver attempted to leave, the male subject fired a handgun at least six times in his direction. Several bullets struck the vehicle. Fortunately, the driver was not injured, and there were no other gunshot victims or injuries related to this incident. Officers checked the area but did not locate the offender.
The investigation led to the recovery of six 9 mm shell casings and also produced video footage of the offender firing the gun. The offender fled the area on foot after the shooting. Images of the offender were made available department-wide, and he was identified as Sean Logan.
On July 2, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Logan was located and arrested in the 1100 block of Church Street. He was transported to the station, where the investigation continued. Logan did not make a statement in relation to this incident. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office reviewed the investigation and approved a felony charge of aggravated discharge of a weapon.

Logan was transported on today's date to the Skokie Courthouse for a detention hearing.
