Fourth Ward Meeting: What’s YOUR vision for Evanston in 2045?
Hello Fourth Ward friends and neighbors,
Our June ward meeting is going to be special—I hope you can join us.
We’ll be joined by Liz Williams, City Planning Manager, who will bring us up to speed on the status of the Envision Evanston 2025 initiative and walk us through the latest draft of the Comprehensive Plan.
Then we’ll continue the conversation in a World Café format, participative small group discussions, which the League of Women Voters will help facilitate.
These structured yet informal discussions allow greater interaction than presentations made to the Land Use Commission, letters to the editor, or e-mails to Councilmembers. The goal is not to change anyone's mind, but to permit each participant to express their perspective on the Envision Evanston effort and to listen to and engage with fellow residents whose views may differ from their own.
The question on the table will be this: “What’s your vision for Evanston in 2045?”
I invite you to join in the conversation and look forward to seeing you next week!
- Tuesday, June 3
- Robert Crown Room B/C
- 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
-
Virtual via Google Meet (first part of the meeting only—unfortunately we don’t have the mojo to manage the World Café virtually)
One last thing: there will be snacks! Once again from Button Bakery, now open on Main Street.
To help ensure we have adequate resources (including snacks), please let me know if you’re planning to attend by RSVPing here.
With regards,
Jonathan Nieuwsma Councilmember, 4th Ward jnieuwsma@cityofevanston.org www.cityofevanston.org
