Project Description
Over the next seven months, water main improvements will occur at the following locations:
- Ashland Avenue (Lyons to Emerson)
- Darrow Avenue (Lee to Dempster)
- Dewey Avenue (Foster to Simpson)
- McDaniel Avenue (Church to Leland)
- Park Place (McDaniel to Walnut)
- Woodbine Avenue (Livingston to Isabella)
This work will include replacing deteriorated water mains and service lines, minor sewer improvements, curb and sidewalk repairs, trench patching, and street resurfacing. Lead service lines will be replaced for participating property owners who have signed a right-of-entry form. For those opting out, the service line will be replaced up to the parkway, and a waiver will be requested.
Project Schedule
The project is set to begin the week of May 12 and finish by mid-November, with each location’s work lasting about eight to ten weeks. Specific start dates will be posted on temporary “No Parking” signs at least 48 hours in advance. Parking will be prohibited from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. during construction. Street sweeping restrictions will be lifted within a one-block radius of the construction zone.
Property owners with a signed right-of-entry form will be contacted by the contractor to schedule their lead service line replacement once work starts in their area.
