Celebrate Earth Day in Evanston 🌎
Celebrate Earth Day in Evanston with a weekend full of eco-friendly fun and community action! From neighborhood clean-up events in the Main-Dempster Mile and Downtown Evanston to a family-friendly Earth Day Fest at the Ladd Arboretum, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
City Earth Day Fest: Head to the Ladd Arboretum on Sat., April 26, from noon to 3 p.m. to enjoy hands-on nature activities, games, and resources from 15+ local eco-organizations. Plus, you can even take home a free tree from the City’s Public Works Department (while supplies last).
Sign up for the Recycle Coach platform!
The City has partnered with Recycle Coach to help residents reduce household waste and improve recycling habits. Through the free Recycle Coach platform, available online or via mobile app, users can access collection schedules, receive service updates, search “What Goes Where?” for disposal info, and more.
Please note: Residents currently receiving refuse collection alerts should re-enroll in Recycle Coach, as the City’s old notification system will be phased out in June.
Check out the City's 2024 Annual Report
In 2024, Evanston focused on planning for a more sustainable and equitable future, including launching the Envision Evanston 2045 planning process and preparing to relocate City operations to 909 Davis St. These initiatives laid the groundwork for long-term progress.

Meet Reggie, the newest member of the Evanston Police Department!
#ICYMI: The Evanston Police Department has a new (scaly) squad member! Meet Reginald (Reggie for short), a chill young bearded dragon who’s already stealing hearts. He’s just starting his mascot training, but we have no doubt he’ll be ready to represent the department in style soon!
That’s it for today's e-news. Thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
