Fire Station 5 Metal Panel Replacement
The City will replace the metal panels on Fire Station 5 to improve energy efficiency and ensure the building remains watertight. The updated panels will feature the same aluminum finish with a more durable design. Construction is scheduled to begin in April and be completed by August 2025. Garland/DBS, Inc. is the general contractor.

Prieto Community Center Roof Replacement
The City will replace the roof at the Dr. Jorge and Luz Maria Prieto Community Center to address existing leaks and ensure the building remains watertight. Work is expected to take place from April through May 2025, with Garland/DBS, Inc. serving as the general contractor.

Crane Lift Operation on Forest Avenue, April 17
Bay Crane Midwest will be operating a mobile crane to hoist an HVAC unit onto a rooftop at 727 Forest Ave. The crane will be set up on Forest Avenue in front of the building. Forest Avenue will be closed from Kedzie to Keeney on Thursday, April 17, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Traffic control will be in place to direct traffic around the site. Please use caution when entering this areas.

Asphalt Pavement Sealing and Rejuvenation
The City will begin sealing and rejuvenating asphalt pavement at approximately 13 locations the week of May 5, weather permitting. The eight to ten-day project will treat about 24,000 square yards of pavement to extend its lifespan and protect against water damage. Work will involve a liquid sealant and limestone screenings, with brief lane shifts, short-term street closures, and limited parking restrictions. Corrective Asphalt Materials is the contractor for the project.
