City dedicates new Lorraine H. Morton City Hall
The City hosted a dedication ceremony for the new Lorraine H. Morton City Hall at 909 Davis Street on Monday, welcoming current and former City staff, elected officials, and business community members.
The modern, ADA-accessible facility improves access to City services, supports downtown revitalization, and honors the legacy of former Mayor Lorraine H. Morton. The Council Chambers will continue to bear the name of former Mayor James C. Lytle, while the former aldermanic library has been re-named the Joan Barr-Smith Council Library.
The event also celebrated the Lorraine H. Morton Mural Wall, created by artist Max Sansing and coordinated by Art Encounter.
 Reminder: Evanston leaf blower restrictions
As a friendly reminder, gasoline- and propane-powered leaf blowers are no longer permitted for use in Evanston. Only electric-powered leaf blowers may be used during the following hours:
- Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
Apply to receive a Sustain Evanston grant: Evanston-based businesses, including City-registered landscaping companies, are eligible to apply for up to $25,000 through the Sustain Evanston program for projects that support the City’s Climate Action & Resilience Plan. Funding can be used for initiatives like purchasing electric landscaping equipment. Apply today before funding is exhausted.

Pick up your beach passes beginning Monday
Free season beach passes will be available to Evanston residents (zip codes 60201 & 60202) beginning Monday, April 14, and are required to access public swimming beaches. Passes can be picked up with proof of residency at select community centers.
