Tony & Wanda Mayfield: The Heart of Dewey Avenue
This is my third installment of recognizing those in the community doing good things. This month I am recognizing Tony and Wanda Mayfield for their amazing work in the community.
Some neighbors make a place feel like home, and on Dewey Avenue, Tony and Wanda Mayfield do just that.
Tony has lived at 1200 Dewey his entire life, and when Wanda joined him, their home became a hub of warmth, connection, and community. Tony’s booming voice carries across the block, sparking conversation, while Wanda greets everyone with kindness and care. They know every face, every story, and they make it their mission to bring people together.
Whether easing tensions, offering support, or simply sharing a smile, the Mayfields embody the spirit of true neighborliness. Their presence makes our community stronger, and we are grateful for the love and connection they bring to our block every day. Much love and appreciation to Tony & Wanda, our incredible neighbors!
