Chicago Man Arrested After Officers Recover Guns and Narcotics from Parked SUV
EVANSTON, IL - A Chicago man faces felony charges after officers recovered firearms and suspected narcotics from a parked vehicle in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue on March 23.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., officers responded to a call of people sitting inside a blue Dodge SUV. The caller reported the subjects were playing loud music, drinking alcohol, and believed one person may have been armed.
Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and identified the driver as Tremmel Richardson. A passenger was also present. Officers observed signs of intoxication in Richardson and noted an open bottle of alcohol on the floorboard.
Richardson was initially uncooperative but was eventually removed from the vehicle and detained. During the detention, a firearm holster fell from his person. A subsequent search of the SUV revealed cannabis, suspected cocaine, suspected heroin, and two loaded firearms—a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson M&P Shield and a 9 mm “ghost gun.”
Richardson and the passenger were taken into custody and transported to the police station. Richardson continued to show signs of intoxication throughout the investigation.
The investigation was reviewed by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office; felony charges were approved against Richardson for weapons and narcotics offenses. The passenger was issued a citation and notice for misdemeanor possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
The Dodge SUV was towed from the scene. Click the following links for pictures of the guns: Smith and Wesson and Tan Ghost Gun.
