Evanston Fire Department Quickly Controls Suspicious Fire on Jackson Avenue
 EVANSTON, IL - At 0608 hours, the Evanston Fire Department was dispatched to a working fire in the 2100 block of Jackson Avenue. Upon arrival, first-arriving companies encountered heavy fire conditions on both the first and second floors of the residence.
Firefighters initiated an aggressive interior attack, successfully bringing the fire under control within 30 minutes of the initial alarm. Due to the severity of the fire, the incident was escalated to a MABAS Box Alarm – 2nd Level to ensure adequate resources.
Two residents were displaced, but no injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and is considered suspicious in nature currently.
