 Did you know there's free parking at City Hall?
Heading to Lorraine H. Morton City Hall at 909 Davis Street? We've got you covered for parking! You can park for free at the Sherman Avenue and Maple Avenue garages—just bring your parking ticket to the first-floor Customer Service Center for validation. There are also six ADA spaces right by the front entrance (just be sure to display your disability plate or placard), as well as in both garages. Learn more about the move.
ICYMI: The Collector's Office was the first to move to the new Morton City Hall at 909 Davis St. and is operating out of the 1st-floor Customer Service Center.

Love Your Block: Applications are now open for the Love Your Block Grant Program! Residents in the 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 9th wards can apply for up to $2,000 to fund community projects that enhance their neighborhoods and build stronger community ties. Applications are open through Fri., March 7.
 Join the Community Police Academy - Apply Now!
The free 12-week Community Police Academy gives Evanston community members an inside look at the Evanston Police Department while fostering communication and collaboration. Participants will learn about crime scene processing, de-escalation, investigations, and more. Classes meet weekly, with the next session running from March 4 to May 20, 2025.
Apply today: Applications are open, and space is limited to 30 participants per session. For more information, contact the Community Engagement & Outreach Team at epdceo@cityofevanston.org.
 Closeout Black History Month with fun events
A discussion with Black artists: Join the Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre on Sat., Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. for "Black History 24/7/365: That Art Thing We Do Part II." Enjoy a conversation with Black Evanston artists, moderated by Laurice Bell of Shorefront Legacy Center. Stick around after the panel for an Afterglow Party with wine and hors d’oeuvres in the 2nd-floor art gallery.
A book reading: The Evanston Public Library, Evanston Police Department, N.O.B.L.E., and author Juleya Woodson present Books & Badges on Sat., Feb. 22, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Robert Crown Branch Library. Enjoy a reading of I Hope They Understand, safety tips, a craft activity, and a chance to meet K-9 Aston.

Give blood at the YMCA
Join the McGaw YMCA’s blood drive on Wed., March 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Chinnock Lounge. Donations can take less than one hour. Visit the Red Cross website to schedule an appointment and use sponsor code MCGAWYMCA.
The first installment of property tax bills is due March 1
The first of two installments of 2024 property tax bills were mailed in late January and will be due on March 4, 2025. This installment is an estimate calculated at 55% of the total taxes paid last year. Property owners can make payments online, by mail, or in person at 118 N. Clark St.
