Check out some festive holiday activities happening throughout Evanston.
Shop Late on Central Street tonight: Businesses on Central Street are staying open late-er tonight, Dec. 12. Enjoy extended shopping hours and dining specials until 7 p.m. with special promotions at over 25 businesses.
Sip and stroll downtown: Celebrate the season with Downtown Evanston’s Warm Bevvy Walk tonight, Dec. 12, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Enjoy a self-guided stroll through local businesses, sampling warm drinks, and finding unique gifts for your holiday list. Grab your ticket now.
Church & Dodge Holiday Festival: Join in for the Church & Dodge Holiday Festival & Tree Lighting on Fri., Dec. 13, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 1623 Dodge Ave. Celebrate the season with live performances, music, and games. Bring an ornament to decorate the tree or make one at the festival!

The winter cold is officially here. With temperatures nearing 0 degrees today, please remember that all City community centers may be used as warming centers during their operational hours:
- Robert Crown Community Center (6 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
- Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center (7 a.m. to 9 p.m.)
- Levy Senior Center (8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
- Main Evanston Public Library (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
- South End Community Center (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Chandler-Newberger Center (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Make sure to check on vulnerable individuals like seniors or pets throughout the winter.
 Receive free health screenings and education
Evanston Health and Human Services, in partnership with Ebenezer AME Church and TBF Health, is launching the Evanston Health Hub to provide free clinical services, health screenings, and educational resources. Located at 1109 Emerson St., it will operate Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m., starting December 19.
Services include: blood pressure screening, diabetes testing, cholesterol screening, weight management, women's health, healthy lifestyle education, connections to additional health resources

Mobile Living Room available at Evanston Public Library
Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center’s Mobile Living Room will be at the Library Main Branch every Thursday from noon to 7 p.m. and at the Robert Crown Branch on the first Friday of each month. The service offers free, walk-in support for adults in crisis in a comfortable setting.
Submit your Special Event Permits
Planning a special event in Evanston? Submit your Special Event Permit Application by Fri., Jan. 31. This includes all outdoor events on City property or those significantly impacting the City. Approval is required from the Special Events Committee and, in some cases, the City Council.

The Envision Evanston 2045 team shared an update about January meeting dates and feedback opportunities for community members to provide their thoughts on the Draft Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Code documents, and Zoning Map. Check it out!
