 Holiday Parking: Free for 2024!
The City is making local holiday shopping easy this year by offering a “Holiday Parking: Free for 2024” promotion. Community members and visitors to Evanston’s business districts will enjoy up to two hours of free parking daily from November 27 through January 1, 2025.
How to get free parking: Users can simply enter the code "Holiday2024" while using the Park Evanston app to access two hours of free street parking. This offer is valid for app users once per day per account.

Envision Evanston 2045: drafts released!
Draft Comprehensive Plan: The City has developed a new Draft Comprehensive Plan! Once finalized, this document will serve as a long-term roadmap for our community’s growth and priorities. Share your feedback by taking our online survey in English or Spanish.
Draft Zoning Districts and Zoning Map: The City has also released the first drafts of its new Zoning District and Zoning Map, documents that define what development can and cannot happen in various areas of the city. Join the conversation by attending the next Land Use Commission meeting on Wed., Dec. 4, at 6 p.m., at the Morton Civic Center.

Holiday Bazaar: Join the Woman's Club of Evanston on November 23 and 24 for their annual Holiday Bazaar! Shop unique gifts from local artisans and vendors, including home décor, jewelry, and gourmet foods.
Winter Art & Crafts Expo: The Winter Arts & Crafts Expo takes place November 23 through December 20 at the Evanston Art Center, and includes original, handmade works of jewelry, ceramics, glass, and more.
Small Business Saturday: Support local businesses this holiday season! Buy your holiday gifts on Shop Small Saturday, Nov. 30, throughout Evanston's nine vibrant business districts. Check out events in Downtown Evanston, the Main-Dempster Mile, and Central Street for some added fun.
Evanston Made Holiday Market: Located at 924 Davis St., the seasonal market will be open December 5 - 22. Shop unique works of art from hyperlocal artists! More information.

Stay safe at the Dog Beach this winter
The City is dedicated to ensuring the continued availability of the Dog Beach throughout the winter season. With winter weather causing added hazards, please review and adhere to the safety regulations set in place.
The Holiday Light Recycling Program starts December 1
Burnt-out bulbs? Recycle unwanted holiday string lights for free from December 1 to January 31 at the Levy Senior Center or Robert Crown Community Center. Garlands, greens, and wreaths are not accepted.
CTA Purple Line maintenance is scheduled
CTA track maintenance between Linden and Howard stations will occur between 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, and 4:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25. Shuttle buses will replace trains during this time.
Sign up to compost this winter
The City's Food and Yard Waste Program ends on December 5. Want to compost throughout the winter? Sign up for the Collective Resources Winter Gap Program, which takes place December 9 - March 24. More info.
Help Pace reimagine its network by providing feedback
Pace is reimagining its network to better serve evolving travel needs. Community input is vital, with opportunities to participate via an online survey, open houses, and a Network Concepts Report.
City service changes and hours for Thanksgiving
The City has announced changes in service delivery and facility hours in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday. Please note: no refuse collections will occur on November 28.
Share your playground ideas for Twiggs Park
The City is planning to replace the playground equipment at both of Twiggs Park’s existing playgrounds in 2025. We need your help deciding what equipment to include in the renovations. Email us photos or descriptions of play equipment you would like us to consider by November 29.

Evanston Repair Café on ABC7!
 Twice a month, the Evanston Repair Café invites community members to repair beloved but broken household items at the Robert Crown Center. Volunteers, including retired professionals, help with everything from lamps and toasters to clothing and musical instruments. This free service, offered every fourth Tuesday and first Saturday, highlights how small actions can make a big environmental impact. Read more in a story by ABC7.
