Draft Zoning Districts and Map Unveiled: Help Shape Our Community's Future
The Draft Zoning Districts and Zoning Map are ready!
The City is making significant strides in rewriting our zoning code—a process that will shape the future of development and land use in our community.
We’re excited to share the first draft of the Zoning District and Zoning Map, documents that define what can and cannot happen in various areas of the city. These updates are critical to understanding how our community will grow and evolve.

The Zoning Districts and Zoning Map will be discussed at the next Land Use Commission meeting on Wednesday, December 4, at 6 p.m., at the Morton Civic Center.
Additional sections of the zoning code will be released in the coming weeks, including:
- Definitions
- General Provisions
- Procedures and Administration
- Use Regulations
- Development Standards
- Nonconforming Uses and Structures
A New Comprehensive Plan is also in the works!
The City is also developing a new Draft Comprehensive Plan. This document will serve as a long-term roadmap for our community’s growth and priorities.
The Draft Comprehensive Plan will be discussed at the Land Use Commission meeting tonight, Wednesday, November 20, at 6 p.m., at the Morton Civic Center. You can share your feedback through the survey links below:
