City of Evanston Announces 2024 Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule
EVANSTON, IL - The City of Evanston has announced changes in service delivery and facility hours in recognition of the 2024 Thanksgiving holiday.
Refuse Collection No collections will occur on Thursday, November 28. If the holiday falls on or before your collection day, services are expected to be postponed by one day. Friday condo trash and recycling collections will occur on Saturday, November 30. Additionally, no street cleaning will occur on November 28 or 29.
311 The 311 Center will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and open for regular hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Friday, November 29.
Facilities

The Robert Crown Community Center and Library and the Main Evanston Library Branch will be closed on November 28.

The Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, Levy Senior Center, South End Community Center, and Noyes Cultural Arts Center will be closed on November 28 and 29.

The Morton Civic Center, Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center, and Chandler-Newberger Community Center will be closed from November 28 through December 1.
Parking Thanksgiving is a City of Evanston parking holiday. Parking meters/pay boxes and downtown parking garages will be free on Thursday, November 28. In addition, other restricted areas that have signs that prohibit parking except on holidays will be honored.
