City Seeks Volunteers for 2024-25 Snow Shoveling Program
EVANSTON, IL - The City of Evanston is once again offering its winter Snow Shoveling Program to connect older adult residents and persons with disabilities with volunteers providing snow shoveling services.
Residents seeking assistance, as well as those interested in volunteering, are encouraged to sign up at cityofevanston.org/shoveling. Volunteers are needed now more than ever for the entire 2024-25 winter snow season.
How it Works
Evanston residents requesting snow shoveling assistance will be given a list of available volunteers in their area. Residents are responsible for contacting volunteers from this list and coordinating their services. Volunteers are responsible for completing the work or notifying the resident if they cannot complete the work. This is a free program, with no exchange of money or goods.
Volunteer
The City is seeking individuals willing to help shovel sidewalks and driveways for older adults and persons with disabilities. Volunteers’ contact information will be shared with residents in need of assistance. Those interested in volunteering should fill out the Snow Shoveler Volunteer Intake Form or call/text 847-448-4311.
Register for Assistance
Older adults or persons with disabilities can register for the program by calling/texting 847-448-4311 or completing the Request for Snow Shoveling Assistance Form.
