Calling all middle schoolers, The Sew It Challenge is open to all D65 students and Evanston residents in 5th-8th grade. The Challenge is simple, join us for 8 workshops to learn the basics to machine sewing. We will provide you with all of the supplies. No experience is required. Whether you've never used a sewing machine before, you're thinking about sewing a button, making a plush animal, or cosplay costumes, we’ve got you covered. For 8 weeks, we will be holding workshops from 4-5:30pm to teach you everything you need to begin your sewing journey. At the end, complete our final project reusable maxi-pads that will be sent to an organization called Girls 4 Girls Ghana to help fight period poverty. Did you know that girls in Ghana and other parts of the world miss 20% of school due to not having menstrual supplies? Join the Challenge today for a chance to win cool prizes. Evanston Public Library was awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to provide our community with free copies of Ross Gay’s book of poetry Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude, to be given away at a variety of events from September through May. In partnership with Hive Center For The Book Arts, we will be hosting art and poetry workshops, as well as other events, around the themes of this book of poetry, with a focus on gratitude and joy for where we live. All ages welcome!

Love robotics? Love LEGO? Join us for an exciting LEGO building challenge and build an obstacle course for a Sphero BOLT to navigate. Get ready to dive into robotics and learn how to use a Sphero BOLT! This round we will be building LEGO bricks to build a challenging obstacle course to then steer the Sphero robots over, under, around, and through the designs!

Join us for an exciting game of Werewolf, an interactive group guessing game that will keep you on your toes. (Grades 6-12)
Werewolf is an fun, interactive game of survival and strategy. In this game players are assigned roles with unique abilities and then the group works to discover the werewolves among them. Use the power of deduction while laughing, snacking and making new friends. New and experienced players are welcome!

Love anime and manga? Join us at Robert Crown for Anime Club. We will watch anime, argue about what show is the best, and eat delicious and sometimes weird Japanese snacks. Each month we will also feature an Anime themed project, such as making buttons from old manga or designing a vinyl sticker. Grades 6-12.
