Hispanic/Latinx-Owned Business Month: From September 15 to October 15, library patrons are invited to pick up a punch card and explore at least five participating Latinx/Hispanic-owned businesses to be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a gift card.
 September is National Preparedness Month
September is National Preparedness Month, a time to make sure you're prepared for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time.
-
Sign up for EvanstonAlerts Notifications: If you're not already, sign up for the City's EvanstonAlerts emergency notification system, which notifies you by text message, email, and phone during an emergency.
-
Make A Plan & Build A Kit: Talk to your networks about how you will communicate before, during, and after a disaster. Gather supplies that will last for several days after a disaster for everyone in your home.
-
Attend the Emergency Preparedness Fair: This year's Emergency Preparedness Fair will take place on Sat., Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Robert Crown Center. This free, family-friendly event will help you gather resources and get prepared for an emergency.
Two opportunities to provide your feedback
Take our Envision Evanston 2045 questionnaire: The City recently held a series of focus groups on topics like Arts & Culture and Equity & Prosperity, to help inform Envision Evanston 2045. If you were unable to participate, share your thoughts through our questionnaire (open through September 19), which includes discussion questions from these sessions.
Fill out our website survey: To enhance the user experience on the City's website, we're conducting a website audit and redesign process that prioritizes ADA accessibility features. Got 15 minutes? We value your feedback, and it'll help us create a more user-friendly, inclusive website. Please take our website survey in English or Spanish before September 16.
