Here are some important details to keep in mind:
The Evanston Folk Festival, hosted by Evanston SPACE, will take place on September 7 and 8. If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, you can purchase them at evanstonfolkfestival.com.
Timeline:
- Friday, September 6: Sheridan Rd (from Greenwood to Church) will be closed for setup.
- Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8: Full street closures will be in effect, with festival hours from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Monday, September 9: Streets will reopen and all equipment will be removed.
Safety:
The Evanston Police Department and private security contractors will be present throughout the event. There will be a full perimeter fence with ticketed entry. You can find the list of permitted and prohibited items at evanstonfolkfestival.com/faq.
Traffic:
Forest Ave. will remain open during the event, but a section of Sheridan Rd., from Greenwood to Church, will be closed.
Parking Restrictions:
Parking will be restricted on the following roads between Forest Ave. and Sheridan Rd.:
- Greenwood/Forest, Lake/Forest, and Davis/Forest.
- Residents will be allowed to enter the restricted area to park in their driveways/garages, except those along Sheridan Rd.
- Downtown garages are available for parking.
Bike Path Detour:
The lakefront bike path will be temporarily redirected from Dempster Ave. to Judson Ave., and then north on Judson Ave, rejoining Sheridan Rd. just north of the event. There will be directional signage on site to guide you.
