Joint Ward Meeting: Planned Development at 1300 Chicago Avenue
Please join me and 3rd Ward Councilmember Wynne for a Joint Ward Meeting on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place in the 3rd Floor conference room at the Evanston Public Library Main Branch.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss a preliminary proposal to retain the existing 1-2 story building at the corner of 1300 Chicago Avenue, and construct a 7-story mixed-use residential building with 65 apartments and 2,000 square feet of retail space and 13 enclosed parking spaces on the current surface parking lot. A Planned Development application has not been submitted at this time. Next steps may include additional community meetings, then a public hearing before the Land Use Commission, City Council review, and a formal decision. View the preliminary plans.
2nd Proposed Development Community Meeting: Legacy Development on Chicago Avenue
Please join me and First Ward Councilmember Kelly for a second Proposed Development Community Meeting with the Horizon Realty Group. The meeting will take place virtually on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a proposed 12-story mixed-use residential building with 6,812 sq. ft. of ground-floor commercial space, 110 apartments, and 48 on-site parking stalls at 1621-31 Chicago Ave. Next steps will include a public hearing before the Land Use Commission, City Council review, and a formal decision.
