August is National Black Business Month! Join the Evanston Public Library as we highlight and support Black owned businesses in the community! This program will run from August 1st-August 31st. Check it out!
National Black Business Month is a time to celebrate and recognize the contributions of Black-owned businesses to our economy and communities. It serves as a reminder of the resilience, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit within the Black business community. Throughout August, we honor the legacy of Black entrepreneurs and highlight their significant impact on innovation, job creation, and economic growth. This observance encourages support for Black-owned businesses through patronage, partnerships, and advocacy for equity and inclusion in the business world.

Join EPL, the Evanston Fire Department (EFD), the Evanston Police Department (EPD), Actors Gymnasium, and C&W Market & Ice Cream Parlor on Saturday, August 10, from 2pm - 4pm, at Elks Play Lot Park (on the corner of Mulford St. and Callan Ave.) for an afternoon of fun, games, gymnastics and circus activities, and trucks! All ages welcome.

Join us for an join us for epic afternoon of fun and games! We will be playing The Night Cage, a horror-themed, tile-placement game where each player is trying to find their way out of the hidden tunnels. However, each player has only a candle to aid them in their escape and its weak light can only illuminate the passages directly adjacent to them. As players move, new pathways are revealed while old ones disappear, consumed in the darkness forever! And there are monsters! Grades 6-12.

Love anime and manga? Join us at Robert Crown for Anime Club. We will watch anime, argue about what show is the best, and eat delicious and sometimes weird Japanese snacks. Each month we will also feature an Anime themed project, such as making buttons from old manga or designing a vinyl sticker. Grades 6-12.
