Project Schedule:
The construction work is scheduled to commence during the week of August 05, 2024 and is anticipated to be substantially completed by November, 2024, weather permitting. Throughout the construction period, some existing sidewalks and crosswalks will be temporarily closed.
Additionally, in areas where parking needs to be restricted for construction, 'No Parking' signs will be posted 48 hours in advance.
The City understands that the construction activities may create some inconveniences for the nearby community members and businesses, the City is committed to minimizing these issues. Furthermore, the city kindly requests for property owners to identify and mark any irrigation sprinkler systems in the parkway with a flag before the start of construction to prevent damages to private systems.
The project includes the following upgrades:
- Installing new sidewalks on Greenleaf Street between Grey Avenue and Pitner Avenue, and on Hartrey Avenue between Greenleaf Street and Greenwood Street.
- Adding new curb and gutter on Hartrey Avenue between Greenleaf and Dempster Streets.
- Replacing driveway aprons to meet sidewalk and ADA requirements.
- Installing crosswalks on Hartrey Avenue between Greenleaf and Dempster Streets, and at the Greenleaf Street and Pitner Avenue intersection.
- Updating existing light fixtures with LED fixtures for better roadway lighting.
- Planting new trees to replace those that need to be removed to construct the sidewalks.
Contractor
The contractor for this improvement project is Alliance Contractors, Inc., located at 1166 Lake Avenue, Woodstock, IL 60098. The contractor is contractually responsible for the means and methods of the work.

The City has retained Singh & Associates, Inc, consulting engineering firm to monitor the project.
