Information for the City's 2025 Consolidated Elections is Now Available

EVANSTON, IL - For those interested in running for municipal office in the upcoming 2025 Consolidated Election, information is now available. 

Important Dates

• Consolidated primary election petition circulation begins on Tuesday, July 30, 2024

• Filing Deadlines:
• First day for filing petitions is on Monday, October 21, 2024
• First day to file nomination petitions with the local election official (Clerk’s Office).
• Last day to file petitions is on Monday, October 28, 2024
• Last day to file nomination petitions with the local election official (Clerk’s Office).

• The Abbreviated Calendar of Dates provides an overview of important dates for the 2025 Consolidated Primary Election and the 2025 Consolidated Election.

• Candidate Guide: The State Board of Elections will post the candidate guide when it becomes available.

• New 2025 Ward Boundaries: Large maps can be found in the Clerk’s Office. The public is encouraged to email the Clerk’s Office at cityclerk@cityofevanston.org to obtain copies of maps.

The City Clerk is committed to keeping potential candidates informed. To receive updates about the 2025 consolidated elections, more information is available. Emails will be sent as new information becomes available, and final documents will be accessible on the City Clerk’s website landing page.

Current Status

The consolidated election candidates guide and the local election guide have not yet been published. The City Clerk's Office is working to provide information about the proper forms to use, signature requirements, and other relevant details as soon as they are available.
