Dear 8th Ward Residents,
I hope you all are enjoying your summer. There will be no 8th Ward meeting this month. The next meeting will take place on Thurs., Aug. 29 at 6:30 p.m. Please join me then where we will discuss important community matters and provide an opportunity for open dialogue.

 The Evanston C.A.R.E. Program has launched
The Crisis Alternative Response Evanston (C.A.R.E.) initiative is a City project aimed at providing a non-police response to certain low-risk service calls. By rethinking public safety, we hope to create a stronger, more connected community. Care team professionals handle a wide range of community concerns, offering a compassionate and effective alternative to traditional responses. Learn more.
 Breaking ground on Foster School
City Councilmembers, City leaders, Evanston/Skokie School District 65 officials, and community members attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Foster School. The school, which will accommodate K-5 students, is slated to open in fall 2026.
 Join First Northern Credit Union for a car buying informational ivent
First Northern Credit Union will host a car buying informational dinner on Wednesday, Aug 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at First Northern Credit Union at 1705 Sherman Ave.
