The City has approved additional work hours for the first phase of the Northwestern Ryan Field Project, effective July 15. These hours will be used for equipment maintenance and preparation for the next day’s activities. The work conducted during these additional hours is required to comply with the City’s noise ordinance, and the impact is expected to be minimal. The additional work hours allow the project to progress and stay on time. The additional work hours are at the City's discretion and will be continually re-assessed.
The additional work hours schedule is as follows:
- Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (currently 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
- Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (currently 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Allowable activities between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays and 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturdays are limited to site maintenance and preparation activities and must comply with City of Evanston noise ordinances.
The traffic from construction project trucking is expected to be minimal.
Furthermore, a virtual community forum will be held on July 23, 2024, at 7 p.m. Northwestern and the Central Street Consortium will provide an update on the Ryan Field Project and the temporary lakeside football field. Register to join the virtual community forum.
