Warrant Arrest Leads to UUW and PCS Charges
EVANSTON, IL - On July 3, 2024, at approximately 9:45 p.m., detectives observed a subject known to them as Cipirano Webb, in the 300 block of Howard Street. Detectives had prior knowledge that Webb had an active Cook County arrest warrant.
Detectives conducted a street stop at the 7500 block of North Paulina Avenue, where Webb was placed under arrest. During a search incident to arrest, a loaded Smith & Wesson M&P .40 caliber handgun with an extended magazine was recovered from Webb’s front waistband. Additionally, a clear plastic baggie containing approximately two grams of suspected cocaine and one blue pill suspected to be MDMA were recovered from Webb’s pockets.
Webb was transported to the police station, where the investigation continued. Further investigation confirmed Webb did not have a Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) card or a Concealed Carry License.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and approved one felony count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon. In addition to the weapons charge, Webb was also charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
