City to Perform Sidewalk Improvements Over the Next Four to Six Weeks

Over the next four to six weeks, sidewalk improvements will be taking place at various locations throughout Evanston as part of the City's Sidewalk Improvement Program. Work is expected to begin the week of July 1 and be finished by early August.

Sidewalk improvement work involves the removal and replacement of deteriorated sidewalks that meet the City’s criteria for replacement.

The specific date when construction activities will begin at each location will be indicated on temporary construction zone "no parking" signs posted at least 48 hours before the work begins. Efforts will be made to complete the work promptly to minimize any inconveniences caused by the construction.

The contractor for the work is Schroeder & Schroeder, Inc., located at 7306 Central Park, Skokie, IL 60076.

This project will be monitored by the City’s Capital Planning and Engineering Bureau.
