Third Act Illinois Presentation on Climate Change
Third Act Illinois will be at Levy Senior Center on Wednesday, June 12 from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. to give a presentation on Climate Action. Call Levy Front Desk to register at 847-448-8250.
June Science with Seniors
Each month, graduate students from Northwestern University visit the Levy Senior Center to discuss different science topics. This month, they will discuss the topic of "Decarbonizing Manufacturing" on Thurs., June 13, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is required by calling the Levy front desk at 847-448-8250.
Rules of the Road
Do you need a renewal class on safe driving techniques and a review of Illinois driving laws to prepare for your written driver's test? Sign up for Rules of the Road on Fri., June 14., from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Space is limited and registration is required. Call the Levy Front Desk at 847-448-8250 to get signed up.
Super Senior Day
Super Senior Day is coming to the Levy Senior Center on Fri., June 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Secretary of State's mobile unit will be providing walk in services including vision testing and renewal of state ID, and driver's licenses. No driving tests are given and all the appointment for Real ID are full. Call Levy Front Desk at 847-448-8250 if you have any questions.
Jamming Jean Summer Concert-Midnight Sun
Join us Fri., June 14, 5 to 7 p.m., for a summer Jamming Jean concert with Chicago's iconic Midnight Sun, a musical powerhouse renowned for their remarkable precision and dedication to delivering the finest Funk and R&B tunes. Since their inception in 1976, they've become a cherished institution in the Chicago music scene.
With a dynamic rhythm section and incredibly versatile vocalists, Midnight Sun transports audiences through decades of soulful sounds, from the golden hits of the '60s to contemporary favorites. Their mastery extends beyond the hits. They effortlessly recreate even the most obscure B-sides with an encyclopedic knowledge of soul music.
The free concert will take place in James Park outside the Levy Senior Center. Enjoy dinner from the Azteca Cocina food truck and be sure to bring a lawn chair!
Disco in the Park
Put on your boogie shoes and hustle on over to the Levy Senior Center on Friday, July 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a night you won't forget. Take a walk down memory lane and enjoy music from the local DJ Michael Stinson!
Movies for Members
Save the date for our weekly movie event for Levy members. To be included on the list, you must be a current Levy member and must pre-register by calling 847-448-8250. We encourage you to bring your own snacks and drinks to enjoy during the movie. If you have suggestions for July and August Movies, let the front desk know.
Drop-in Pickleball
Visit us at the Levy Senior Center every Monday and Wednesday between noon and 3 p.m., and on Sundays between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., to enjoy drop-in pickleball.
- $5 per person. Please pay at the front desk before playing.
- Three lined pickleball courts are available
- Nets and balls will be provided
- Players must provide paddles
Players are responsible for organizing games and being respectful of court time. All skill levels are welcome.
Levy Membership

From Monday, Jan. 1, through Tuesday, Dec. 31, buckle up for exclusive perks such as class discounts, a sweet deal on a rental, and unlimited access to our fitness wonderland. You'll be part of the coolest club in town for just $50 annually (resident rate) or $70 for non-residents. Renewing your Levy membership is easy! Songs by Heart
Therapeutic sing-alongs will be held on Fridays from noon to 1 p.m. in the Levy Library. The Songs by Heart program encourages people at all cognitive levels to engage with others and the world. ‘Songs by Heart’ has partnered with the Levy Senior Center to provide their first regular programs for people living outside of retirement communities at no cost. This program was designed for people with Alzheimer's or other dementias and their caregivers, but all are welcome.
Levy Fitness Room
Get excited to embark on an exhilarating fitness journey in 2024 that is specifically tailored for seniors aged 55 and above. Say goodbye to a sedentary lifestyle and welcome the joy of exercise at the fitness center. We're not just talking about lifting weights; we're unlocking your inner fitness guru. Join in a treadmill dance party, where workouts become a rhythm-filled celebration. Envision yourself in colorful workout gear, conquering the elliptical machine. This isn't your ordinary workout routine; it's a fitness extravaganza!
From enjoyable cardio activities to strength training and gentle stretching, it's a party for your muscles. Be a part of the camaraderie with fellow fitness enthusiasts, exchanging high-fives and fist bumps. So, put on your sneakers, stay hydrated, and let's make 2024 the year where you surpass your fitness goals in a welcoming and invigorating environment.
Starlight Concert and Movie Series
Evanston, get ready for an unforgettable summer filled with music, movies, and magic under the stars!
Introducing the 2024 Starlight Concert and Movie Series lineup, coming to parks across Evanston! We're thrilled to bring the excitement to your local park, with evenings packed full of live music and outdoor movie screenings that will make your summer shine brighter than ever. Juneteenth Celebration: June 15
The celebration includes a parade starting at noon on June 15 at the Robert Crown Community Center and ending at Ingraham Park, where the festivities will continue with music, art, food, and community activities until 4 p.m. (If you are marching in the parade, lineup starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Crown Center.)
Food Truck Fest: June 29
Get ready for a delicious celebration at the 2024 Food Truck Fest! The festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. at Ingraham Park, 2100 Ridge Ave., where you can enjoy a diverse selection of food trucks offering everything from gourmet burgers to sweet treats. The movie Barbie (2023, ASL) begins at 6:30 p.m. Don't miss out on this tasty adventure!

Do you struggle with how to use aspects of your phone or laptop? The Levy Senior Center has the support you need. Call the front desk at 847-448-8250 to schedule a free appointment.
Levy Café

Ride The Levy Bus
Booking Procedures:
- To arrange for bus service, you must call either the day before or by 8:30 a.m. on the morning of the requested day to be added to the pick-up list for that day.
- To request transportation, call the Levy Senior Center front desk at 847-448-8250 the day before or call 847-448-4311 on the morning of your intended trip.
Morning Bus Pickups (Monday through Friday):
- Pickups begin at 9:15 a.m.
Afternoon Return Routes (Monday-Friday):
- The first return route from the Levy Center departs at 12:30 p.m.
- The last bus of the day departs at 3:30 p.m., returning members home.
Grocery Shopping Trips:
- Starting at 11:30 a.m., we only provide grocery shopping trips on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- On Tuesdays, the bus will make stops at Dollar Tree, Goodwill, and Vali. Drop-offs occur on Wednesdays at Sam's Club, Marshalls, Food for Less, Jewel, and Target. The bus will be available to pick you up at the end of your shopping trip.
Free of Charge for Levy Center Members:
- Importantly, all of these transportation services are completely free of charge for Levy Center members who are 55 and older.
