Guaranteed Income Program Information Session, April 28
Good afternoon,
I’m thrilled to support an initiative that directly impacts the 5th Ward in such a positive way. Recognizing the financial challenges of raising children, Evanston’s City Council recently approved funding for a guaranteed income program aimed at assisting families facing economic hardships.
Guaranteed income programs provide a stable financial foundation that helps reduce the stress of uncertainty, allowing parents to focus more on their family's well-being and less on financial survival.
This initiative provides $500 monthly payments for one year to eligible families with children aged 5 or under residing in the 8092 Census tract. This area was specifically chosen due to its high levels of childhood poverty and housing insecurity, as identified in our health e-plan, underscoring our targeted approach to addressing these critical issues.
Join us for an Information Session on Sun., April 28, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center to learn more and see if you qualify. Please review the flyer for more information on this event. Let's continue to work together to support and strengthen our community—one family at a time.
