Join us for a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony for Evanston’s new skate park, located at Twiggs Park, on Sat., April 6, from noon to 2 p.m. Enjoy speeches from public officials, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, skate games, local vendors, raffles, and more! Learn more.
 Spring clean with free Bulk Trash Pickup
Dispose of bulk items this spring as part of the City's Bulk Trash Pickup program! Collections take place on Fridays, April 5 through 26, according to residents' normal refuse pickup day.
Did you receive your City Services Guide in the mail? If not, check out our online version or pick up a copy at one of our community centers (in English and Spanish). This helpful guide contains street cleaning maps and schedules, and other public works, refuse, and forestry information.
 It's National Public Health Week!
Did you know? The Evanston Health Department is turning 150 this year! It is one of the oldest and one of five certified municipal health departments in the state. Stay tuned for celebration details later this year.

Host a Meeting-In-A-Box
There's still time to participate in the Envision Evanston 2045 Survey and Meeting-In-A-Box community feedback methods! The deadline for submissions has been extended to April 19.
Host a Meeting-In-A-Box: View a "Message from the Mayor" that went out last week about the importance of participating in Envision Evanston 2045, particularly the Meeting-In-A-Box option. Downloadable materials will be available through April 12.

The Cardboard Carnival is coming to town!
Join the Evanston Public Library for a Cardboard Carnival on Sat., April 6, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Fleetwood Jourdain Community Center. Collect game tickets for prizes, just like a real carnival! Created by Evanston youth, over 50 students will be showcasing innovative games.
Sewer line rehabilitation has begun
The City has contracted to rehabilitate a portion of its public combined sewer lines using the Cured-In-Place Pipe process. Sewer cleaning and televising have begun and lining will begin in May. Work is anticipated to be completed by August 31. Learn more.
Temporary Pace bus shelter relocations
Pace will begin construction of two new bus shelters on Dempster Street near Dodge Avenue. A temporary relocation of bus stops for the Pulse Route 250 Eastbound Stop at Dodge Avenue will go into effect this week. The Pulse Route 250 Westbound stop will be relocated at the end of April.
Property Tax Appeals are due April 19
Looking to appeal your property taxes? Submit an appeal to the Cook County Assessor through Fri., April 19. It's strongly encouraged to file an appeal on your own online. For assistance, submit an Appeal Authorization form no later than April 12 to have an appeal filed on your behalf.
