Monday, April 8, 12-4pm, Main Library & Robert Crown Branch Library.
Monday, April 8 we will witness a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk. The total phase of this solar eclipse is not visible in Evanston, but we will be able to observe the sun 93.7% covered by the moon. It will start at 12:51 pm, hit midpoint at around 2:07 pm, and end at 3:22 pm.
Evanston residents may get up to two pairs of eclipse glasses per family, which may be picked up at the Library Desk starting Wednesday April 3. Please only register for one location. Please list all the members of your family when you register.
