The City has launched four grant programs to provide essential support to small Evanston businesses! Applications are now open.

Small Business Recovery Program: Designed to protect Evanston’s small business economy and aid in local pandemic recovery, this program offers eligible businesses grants of up to $25,000. More info.

Sustain Evanston Program: Elevate your sustainability efforts with this relaunched program offering Evanston businesses grants of up to $25,000 to adopt eco-friendly solutions. Learn more and apply online.

Storefront Modernization Program: Enhance your commercial building with this new funding tool. Apply to receive a 50% rebate, up to $10,000, for eligible interior or exterior improvements.

Entrepreneurship Support Program: To assist in the growth of local jobs through entrepreneurship, eligible businesses operating for two years or less can receive grants of up to $5,000. Learn more.

The demolition process is estimated to be completed in 3 to 4 months. Northwestern has announced measures to keep the community informed about upcoming milestones and to ensure transparency throughout the construction process. Located just south of Clark Street Beach, the Evanston Dog Beach will open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., beginning March 1.
Pick up your pass: Remember, a valid dog beach pass is required for entry to the Evanston Dog Beach. Passes will be available in person at City community centers on weekdays starting February 19.

Assist the City in planning the Mason Park Expansion and Church-Dodge Transportation Improvements project, which aims to enhance open space opportunities and improve vehicular, biking, and walking connections in the neighborhoods surrounding Mason Park and the Church-Dodge area.

The first installment of property tax bills is due March 1
The first of two installments of 2023 property tax bills were mailed on January 29. This installment is 55 percent of a property's total tax bill for the previous year and is due on March 1. Property owners can make payments online, by mail, or in person at the Cook County Treasurer's office.
ComEd Offers EV charging equipment rebates
ComED is offering up to $3,750 for residential electric vehicle charging equipment. They have also announced new rebate programs for business and public sector customers. Learn more about these programs.
Upcoming water main improvements on Crain Street
Water main improvements will take place on Crain Street from Ridge to Sherman Avenues over the next eight to ten weeks. Work will include water main replacement, water service replacement, minor sewer improvements, sidewalk repairs, street resurfacing, and more.
Non-resident summer camp registration, February 19
Summer camp registration for non-residents begins at 10 a.m. on Mon., Feb. 19. Please note: existing online accounts must be checked to ensure access to the website 24 hours before registration.

Adoptable Pet of the Month: Shirley Patridge

She's a bundle of energy and a delightful companion who loves to be near people. Shirley expresses herself with cheerful chirps and gets extra excited at mealtimes. Interested in meeting her? Stop by the Evanston Animal Shelter (611 South Blvd.) on Saturdays between Noon and 3 p.m.
