What's Envision Evanston 2045? It's a yearlong, community-driven process that will lead to a new comprehensive plan and zoning code, and shape a shared vision for the future of Evanston.
Join in for the launch event: Join us on Tues., Feb. 6, at 6:30 p.m., at the Morton Civic Center or via Zoom for the Envision Evanston 2045 launch event! Hear from community leaders, learn about the new plan, and share your vision for Evanston's future.

 Summer camps are calling!
It's only February, but it's already time to start thinking about summer camps, believe it or not! Online registration for residents begins on Sat., Feb. 10, and for non-residents on Mon., Feb. 19.
Get prepared: Check out all of the awesome camp options we have available this summer in the 2024 Summer Camp Guide.
Check your online account: Existing online accounts need to be checked to ensure website access 24 hours before registration days. New accounts must be created in advance.

 Celebrate Black History Month in Evanston
Let's kick off Black History Month by recognizing the incredible contributions of Black Americans. Get involved in a variety of community events and activities happening all month long.
Engage with local Black artists: Join the Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre for 'Black History 24/7/265: That Art Thing We Do' on Sat., Feb. 17, at 7 p.m., at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center. Engage with Black Evanston artists in a conversation moderated by Laurice Bell. Register now.
Celebrate with Parks & Recreation: Head to the Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre on Sat., Feb. 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., for a fun-filled night of entertainment in honor of Black History Month.
Participate in library activities: The Evanston Public Library is hosting an array of Black History Month programs and events. Check them out!
 That's a wrap! City recycling truck gets a new look
Congratulations to Chute Middle School student and artist Isabel Morales, whose original graphic design adorns the City’s new recycling truck!
Morales' design received the most votes in the City and District 65’s Youth Recycling Wrap Competition, which challenged students to submit original artwork illustrating the importance of recycling in honor of 'America Recycles Day'. Keep an eye out for Isabel’s truck around Evanston!

Calling all Evanston youth ages 14 to 18 years! Find your perfect summer job at this year's Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program Job Fair on Sat., Feb. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Robert Crown Community Center. Make sure to register by February 9 to participate.

In September 2022, the City completed an ADA Transition Plan with key accomplishments, including appointing an ADA Coordinator and establishing an Advisory Group. Evanston unites: gather to show support after the recent fires
 With the multiple devastating fires that took place over the past few weeks in Evanston, please join us in thanking the brave firefighters of the Evanston Fire Department who sprang into action.
Our hearts go out to the families and individuals who lost homes, pets, memorabilia, studios, and small businesses in the fires. We encourage the community to come together to show support during this difficult time.
Fundraiser at ArtMakers Outpost: Community members are gathering together to raise funds for the business owners who lost their livelihoods. The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., at ArtMakers Outpost, 609 South Blvd.
Help support the Sweeney family: A GoFundMe has been created to raise funds for the Sweeney family, who lost their home, belongings, and beloved cat.
